Bye...

Hey Everybody!

I’m sorry to say that this is my very last blog post on my blog. I know, its very sad, but since I take my Creative Writing final is this morning, and then I am done with the class, I am not required to write on it anymore.

To me, writing on a blog every week is kind of a pain in the butt. I don’t really understand how everybody that actually keeps up on blogs does it, because I can barely keep up on blogging every week, and that is even when I am required to do so. So, all of you that do keep up on your blogs, I praise you, because that is something that I will never be able to do.

Never the less, I hope all of you enjoyed what I did put on here. My purpose of this blog was to see if you could relate to my life, and make you remember things that you have once forgotten that had happened a long time in the past, and I really hope I did this for all of you.

Summer starts for me, this Thursday. I am so stoked for summer. I get to do so many things this summer, I seriously can not wait to do all of them. Like I have mentioned so many times and past blogs, I get to go to New York and do all of the fun stuff that that wonderful city has to offer. Also, my parents have told me that sometime this summer I get to go to one of my favorite theme parks, Holiday World and Splashing Safari.

If you don’t live close to where I do, then you will probably have absolutely no idea what Holiday World even is, but if you do live by where I do, then you have been there probably at least 3 times, if you are sane. It is probably the best theme park in the Mid West for all ages. It has whole sections of rides that are just for little kids and their parents to enjoy, plus there are whole sections of rides for kids my age, like huge wooden roller coasters that have been named some one the best in the world. And not to mention the water park, Splashing Safari, which has been named the best water park in the world. If you live in the MidWest like me, I highly suggest that you go to this amusement park, which is in Santa Claus, Indiana (No I am not kidding, this is really where it s at)

Here it is. My big goodbye to you all. I am sorry I wont be writing anymore, I am just way to busy and barely have time as it is to write, let alone this summer. So I am sorry. But maybe I will talk to on of you someday, who knows? Well farewell, for now at least. Ta Ta for now, or never maybe. I Don’t know.

Love,

Me <3

May Fete!

Hey Everyone!

I hope your week has not been as long and drawn out as mine has been recently. I have been waiting for this moment for a very long time now and it is finally here. It is finally May Fete!

If you have not read any of my blog posts, here is the basic idea of what Mayfete is about: For those of you that don’t know what that is, the underclassmen girls make up dances for the senior girls and do them for them, and they get to dress up in really nice dresses. They pick a court and a May Fete queen also. Anyway, I am a choreographer. I make up some of the dances. We usually practice for around four hours every Sunday afternoon, teaching all of these dances. You also have to try and take time out of your week and try to come up with stuff.

I am very nervous and very excited at the same time. I am excited because, duh, its May Fete, but I am also very nervous too. I will be performing in front of roughly three thousand people!

I am in seven of the fifteen or so dances that are in today’s May Fete. Crazy, right? I am in the intro, which is how we kick off May Fete. Then, I am in two sophomore dances, which all of the sophomore girls are in. I am also in a dance called flashlight. It is where they turn off all of the lights in the gym, and all of the dancers are dressed in all black. All of a sudden, the music starts, and the flashlights that we are holding turn on. We make different patterns using the lights to please the crowd. I am also in a dance called May Pole. This is an all choreographer dance. Basically, there is a pole with as many strings as there are girls on it. Each girl takes a string, and weaves it in a way that it makes a cool design, they also have a dance made for the music too. Last, i am in finale, which is a every explosive dance that ends the night with a bang. This is probably my favorite dance of all, for this reason alone.

I have been looking forward to this day for a long time, but I really cannot wait for my own senior May Fete, where every senior girl will get to be honored. Ever since I was a little girl I have been waiting for that special night, and the closer it gets, the more excited I am. I love what I do for my upperclassmen, but I cant wait for my own special night.

Well, it starts at 8, but I have to be there at seven p. m. and I am going to take a little nap before then, so I will blog about my great experience next week. Until then, have a great week, and be thinking about me tonight!

Lazy School Daze...

Hey Everyone!

I hope everyone has had a great week, and is not near as stressed out as I am right now. I have so much stuff going on in the next three weeks it is literally making my head spin… well… I guess not literally.

This was kind of a crazy week for the people of this high school. The juniors were taking their ACT’s on Tuesday. IF any of you didn’t know, this is pretty much the test that will determine what college you get in to and which colleges that you don’t get in to. I am a sophomore, but it still affects me on a big level. Most of my teachers were proctors that day, and were not in class, therefore, we didn’t really do much in any of those classes, it seemed like. All it seemed like is we sat their and talked and laughed and goofed around all the way through the school day. On Wednesday, the juniors were taking their PSAE’s, or their prairie state tests, which are only offered to the juniors in high school in Illinois, and it also has stuff to do with the college you go to, also. So, that day, once again, we sat there and talked and laughed and goofed around all day, because we had no work to do what so ever. Needless to say, those were two pretty good days of school. Hardly any school work, and friends in every single one of my classes to talk to.

The next day was also planned to be a pretty good day, because, once again, I got to get out of school. But this time, I actually got to leave the school building. I am in the jazz band at my school, and I play the trumpet. We were going on a jazz tour with the chorus, and travelling to all of the other schools in town to play our wonderful music for them. At first, I just thought it was a good excuse to get out of school but it was actually pretty fun. I got to go back to my old school, and see all of the teachers that I had missed so much from my high school days. It was definitely worth getting out of school for.

Friday, I also got out of school. Today, I went to the different elementary schools in town with my Creative Writing class and we showed them poems that we made a Power Point presentation for to see if they would like them or not. It was always fun to see the kids different reactions to all of the different poems that they got to see throughout the day. It was also a very good excuse to get out of school for the day, again.

I am so happy that I got to pretty much chill this week, but now I have all of this make up homework to deal with, and that is so not worth it. Sometimes being in so many activities is kind of a pain in the butt. Oh well, it keeps me from being bored all of the time. Stay Busy, Everyone!

Summer is Coming

Hey Everybody!

Summer is quickly coming in on us, isn’t it? I seriously can not wait until I can drive around, do whatever I want, go wherever I want, and get a great tan while doing it, even though I am really pale and don’t really tan that much as it is.

What are your plans for this coming summer? Other than going on the New York trip, and going to a Cardinals game in St. Louis the week after that, I am not going on any other vacations. I wish I could, but some things just don’t work out the way you had always planned for them to be. Where all have you been on vacation? I have had some very great vacations in the past, and they will definitely over shadow the fact that I most likely will not be having a big family vacation this summer.

The place I always remember going to as a really little kid is an amusement park called Kings Island. It is in Cincinnati, Ohio, and I have probably been there a total of probably 10 times. Yes, I said ten times. My family has always loved going there, and so have I. We have made so many trips there, I can never seem to keep them straight in this head of mine. This is the place where I came to love going to amusement parks and theme parks, and riding roller coasters. My favorite roller coaster will always be there. It is called the Beast, and it is probably around forty years old, and is a humungous wooden roller coaster. In fact, it is the longest roller coaster ever built anywhere.

Another place I remember going when I was a little kid was the monster of all vacations, the place where every little kid wants to go, Disney World in Orlando, Florida. When my parents told me they had first bought plane tickets to Florida, I was about 7 years old, and I though it was the best day of my whole entire life at that point, and it was, up until the day we actually left for the airport in Indianapolis. When I got to Florida, I thought I was in a dream or something. I got to stay in a Disney hotel, and I remember it being the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in, in my whole entire life, even to this day, and I have stayed at a lot of pretty nice hotels in my lifetime. I got to go to all of the Disney parks, ride all of the rides that I wanted to, and watch all of the shows that I could have ever wanted to watch. The food was great there, too. To this day, it is probably still one of the best vacations I have ever been on in my whole entire life, just because of the great time I had there and all of the great memories that were made over that long week of fun in the sun.

Books!

Hey Everyone!

I am so glad that it is finally Friday, the best day of the week, in my opinion, and lots of others too, I am sure. This week has seemed to drag, don’t you think? It was our first week back after spring break, and every one at school just seemed so quiet and tired. I guess that just shows that our spring break needs to be longer. (:

Now that the play is over, I am not near as busy as I was before. I actually have some free time on my hands. Crazy, right? If you know me, I absolutely love to read. Recently, I have been stuck on one author, and I love him. His name is Nicholas Sparks.

Many people probably know who he is, but I will tell you just in case you didn’t. He writes pretty much romantic novels, and a lot of them have been turned into movies.  Some of these movies include Message in a Bottle, A Walk to Remember, The Notebook (probably his most wellknown book and movie, and also my favorite), Nights in Rodanthe(ß I have been there. (: ), Dear John( another favorite from him), The Last Song( another good one with Miley Cyrus) and The Lucky One(his newest movie, it comes out the 20th, and I cant wait to see it!). here is a list of all of his books, and I put stars by the ones that I have read.
  • The Notebook (October 1996) * * *
  • Message in a Bottle (April 1998)
  • A Walk to Remember(October 1999)
  • The Rescue (September 2000)
  • A Bend in the Road (September 2001)
  • Nights in Rodanthe(September 2002)
  • The Guardian (April 2003) * * *
  • The Wedding (September 2003) * * *
  • Three Weeks With My Brother (April 2004) - A non-fiction account of traveling with his brother after the men lost both parents and their sister in quick succession.
  • True Believer (April 2005)
  • At First Sight (novel) (October 2005)
  • Dear John (October 2006) * * *
  • The Choice (September 2007)
  • The Lucky One (October 2008) * * *
  • The Last Song(September 2009) * * *
  • Safe Haven (September 2010)
  • The Best Of Me (October 2011)

I highly suggest that if you haven’t read any of his books, that you get to it and read one, at the very least. I am sure that you have heard of many of these books, just sit down and read one. Yeah, they may be a little girly, but they are really good and teach you a lot of life lessons, at least that is how they affected me. I could probably finish a book a day if I wanted to. My ultimate goal is to sometime read all of his books. Yes, they really are that good. Well, I will talk to you all next week. Happy reading every one! See you later!

West Side Story!

Hi everybody!

So, I am freaking out right now! Tonight is the opening night of our school’s production, “West Side Story.” I am so excited!

I am sure many of you have heard of this great musical before, but you really don’t know what it is about, right? Well, here is a basic overview of it: West Side Story is an American musical with a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and conception and choreography by Jerome Robbins. It was inspired by William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet.

Set in New York City in the mid-1950s, the musical explores the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds. The members of the Sharks from Puerto Rico are taunted by the Jets, a white working-class group. The young protagonist, Tony, one of the Jets, falls in love with Maria, the sister of Bernardo, the leader of the Sharks. The dark theme, sophisticated music, extended dance scenes, and focus on social problems marked a turning point in American musical theatre. Bernstein's score for the musical has become extremely popular; it includes "Something's Coming", "Maria", "America", "Somewhere", "Tonight", "Jet Song", "I Feel Pretty", "A Boy Like That", "One Hand, One Heart", "Gee, Officer Krupke", and "Cool".

I absolutely love this play and everyone in it. We have the best cast, orchestra pit, stage crew, and backdrop artists around. I am so proud of everyone and the great work they have done to make our performances great.

This is one of those plays that you have the music in it stuck in your head twenty four seven! It is kind of ridiculous! At least I love the music!

This play has a great message. Pretty much what it is saying is that everybody should love everybody else, no matter what or who you are, no matter what race or color or background that you may have.
If you live anywhere near Paris, I highly suggest you go to see this wonderful musical and everybody in it!

Tonight’s performance is at 7 o clock. Tomorrow we have performances at 1 ( this is our childrens matinee, it is highly shortened and has no dirty or raunchy content in it, where as our normal content does have these things) and at night again at 7. Last but not least, we have our performance on Sunday at 1 o clock also. I highly recommend this performance, because we tend to somewhat ad lib most of the time, and try to make things more humorous, but without taking away the main plot and story line that this great play has.

Like I said before, it would mean the world for anybody to come watch us! I promise, it will be really good! The tickets are 7 dollars for adults and 3 for children. I really hope to see some of you there! By the way, have a really great spring break everyone! Bye Bye for now!

Hunger Games!

Hi people!

I am so so excited for tonight. Not only is it Friday, but it is March 23, 2012. Is this date important to anybody else? No, it isn’t my birthday. No, it isn’t Christmas. Obviously. It is the day that the Hunger Games comes out in theaters!

Have any of you ever read the amazing book series that is the Hunger Games? If you have, then you know why I am so excited. If not, then you are completely missing out and need to read them as soon as possible!

I have recently read this book series, because I knew that the movie was coming up, and I knew I wanted to see it, but I never watch the movie before reading the books. I instantly fell in love with them. I finished all three books in a matter of a week.

I would give you a plot summary, but that is what the movie and book are for! Well, if you still aren’t convinced, here are some great reviews for you:

"Relax, you legions of Hunger Gamers. We have a winner," writes Rolling Stone critic Peter Travers. "The screen 'Hunger Games' radiates a hot, jumpy energy that's irresistible. It has epic spectacle, yearning romance, suspense that won't quit and a shining star in Jennifer Lawrence, who gives us a female warrior worth cheering."
"'The Hunger Games' runs nearly two and a half hours in length but is the rare film that never drags and doesn't overstay its welcome," said the Associated Press' Christy Lemire. "It could keep running as long as Katniss (the main character) does, and we'd want to be right there every heart-pounding step of the way."
The New York Daily News' Joe Neumaier called the film "light years ahead of 'Twilight'." "It’s better and scarier than its source book," he wrote, "And aims an angry eye at our bloodthirsty, watch-anything-and-cheer culture."
That said, does writer/director Gary Ross (Seabiscuit and Pleasantville – not to mention writing credits on Big, Dave, and Mr. Baseball) ultimately deliver a Hunger Games film adaptation that accurately transports fan-favorite characters and events onto the big screen – as well as offering up an entertaining movie experience for audience members who haven’t bothered with the books?
Despite a few hiccups that come with distilling a 350 page book (told in first person) into a two hour and twenty minute film, The Hunger Games is not only a solid adaptation of the source material – it succeeds at covering a copious amount of backstory, while at the same time delivering some genuinely entertaining (and at times, thrilling) moments, even for those who are still unfamiliar with the book series. The Hungers Games books are jam-packed with supporting characters and in-depth mythos – and so is the film adaptation (at times to a fault).
The basic story takes place in a dystopian future where the Capitol rules over the country of Panem (in what used to be North America) – and uses “The Hunger Games” to suppress the surrounding districts. Each year, the Capitol randomly selects one girl and boy from each of the twelve districts to participate in the Hunger Games – where the 24 “tribute” children fight to the death until only one remains.
I hope all of these reviews made you want to see it! Well, I am of to see the Hunger Games! Bye!

82 Degrees in Winter?

Hey Everyone!

How was your week? Was it hot like mine? It is insanely hot outside!!

Okay, so it is the middle of March and it is like 82 degrees outside. That is ridiculous! I live in the middle of Illinois, and it never gets this hot out during this time of the year. I don’t understand why Mother Nature is doing this, but I am loving every minute of it!

So, I decided to look a little research about the temperatures here, and what they really should be. This is what weatherspark.com says about my town:

“Over the course of a year, the temperature typically varies from 18°F to 83°F and is rarely below 4°F or above 90°F. The warm season lasts from May 20 to October 2 with an average daily high temperature above 73°F. The hottest day of the year is July 13, with an average high of 83°F and low of 64°F. The cold season lasts from November 28 to March 1 with an average daily high temperature below 43°F. The coldest day of the year is January 25, with an average low of 18°F and high of 33°F. The probability that precipitation will be observed at this location varies throughout the year. Precipitation is most likely around May 20, occurring in 55% of days. Precipitation is least likely around September 11, occurring in 30% of days. Over the entire year, the most common forms of precipitation are thunderstorms, moderate rain, and light snow. Thunderstorms are the most severe precipitation observed during 42% of those days with precipitation. They are most likely around June 23, when it is observed during 39% of all days. Moderate rain is the most severe precipitation observed during 21% of those days with precipitation. It is most likely around November 12, when it is observed during 16% of all days. Light snow is the most severe precipitation observed during 14% of those days with precipitation. It is most likely around February 1, when it is observed during 21% of all days.”
Okay, we aren’t even in our “warm season” yet, and our average temperatures are already higher than the average temperature for the hot season! I wonder if this has something to do with global warming somehow, but who knows? It could be anything. What I don’t understand is that there was snow on the ground last week! It had to be at least thirty two degrees outside for it to snow, so how much have the temperatures differed? Over fifty degrees! That is literally insane.
It might seem like I am complaining, but I am far from it. I actually love this weather! I actually get to wear shorts, t shirts, and flip flops again! I don’t know what I would do without flip flops, by the way. The only thing I don’t like about this is that it scares me about what is supposed to come this summer. What, is it going to be like one hundred and ten degrees for a low or something?!

Hectic Days!

Hi everybody!

My week has seemed to drag on for forever and ever, but it is finally Friday! Thank goodness! I don’t have much homework, which is great. But the one thing that I don’t have, is free time.

Yeah, Yeah, I know I am a high schooler, and we are supposed to be in tons of activities, and I am, but I have no free time anymore! I am always so busy, doing this or that or this other thing. It seems like I don’t even have a social life anymore, because I don’t ever have time to socialize it seems like.

This time of the year is always busy. First, as you all know, I am involved in our Spring musical, West Side Story. We have two weeks left until our very first performances, so we practice almost ever day of the week. We usually practice in the gym, so we have all that room to act as our stage and have room to actually, you know, move around. We usually have practice for, I don’t know, maybe three to four hours around this time. On Saturdays, I also have play. Play Practice always starts at nine o’ clock, and usually gets done around 12 or 1ish. The week of the play we are usually at the school until about mid night every night. It is crazy.

I am also trying out for cheer again next ear. We are already starting clinics for try outs, which are towards the middle of May. I usually have those twice a week for around to hours, and those are always really really exhausting it seems like. Also, I take gymnastics privates with an instructor twice a week too. I am trying really hard to get my back handspring, which is a pretty hard tumbling skill, and is basically required to make the team. So, if I don’t get my back handspring, it is very likely that I won’t make the team. It is pretty much crucial that I get that tumbling skill if I want to make it next year on the cheer team, so I have no choice other than to take privates. Those usually last around half an hour to and hour at length either once or twice a week, depending on how busy I am and when I can get in to take one.

I am also in May Fete. For those of you that don’t know what that is, the underclassmen girls make up dances for the senior girls and do them for them, and they get to dress up in really nice dresses. They pick a court and a May Fete queen also. Anyway, I am a choreographer. I make up some of the dances. We usually practice for around four hours every Sunday afternoon, teaching all of these dances. You also have to try and take time out of your week and try to come up with stuff. Seriously, when do I have time for homework?

I hope you all aren’t as busy as me, because it kind of stinks. Have a fantastic week!

The Future

Hi people!

My week has been a lotbetter than last week. I am glad to say that I am not sick anymore! Yay! I had a ton of makeup work to do for school, and I am finally done with that, thank goodness.

Anyway, do you guys feel like you know me? I really don't think you do. This blog post is going to be strictly and my present and future. It might not be exciteing for everybody, but it is what is going on with my life, so it is pretty important to me.

Okay, first things first. I ama sophomore at Paris Cooperative High School and I started this blog because of my Creative Writing class, where it is necessary to keep a blog and make a post on it every week. don't get me wrong, I really like writing on it, even though it is mandatory!

I obviously plan on graduating high school, hopefully the top of my class (my grades are very important to me, I have a five point zero grade point average). I want to go to EIU (Eastern Illinois University) and majoring in Early Elementy Education, specializing in third through the fifth grades. I have always, always wanted to be a teacher, and this i know will never change. I Would like to minor in something liek Dance or even some form of Music.

I wnt to get a four year degree at Easterna and the get a teaching job somewhere. i would love to stay in the Mid West region of the country, but I will go whereever my job or family needs to take me. No matter what is going on in my life, family is always going to be my number one priority, forever and always.

Everybody is probably thinking, "Why in the heck would you want to be a teacher? they get absolutely no pay and they get terrible benefits. That would suck so much!" I really don't care about what everone else thinks. I would love to be a teacher! it is my dream job, always has and always will be my dream job, no matter what! does the pay stink? Yeah. Do you get good benefits? No, not really. But who cares? I will bedoing what I love and that is all that matters to me.  Maybe iI will marry a rich husband and the money issue will never be a problem. wow, how great would that be? the best thing about the job is that I will get to see my kids a lot, and stay off in the summer with them, and like I said before, family will always be very very important in my life.

Now you hopefully know a litttle bit more about who I am and what I want with my life. I told you it wuld be pretty boring, but i know it won't be. Life can never ever be boring. You can't even try to make it boring. It is basically impossible. Hope you all have a fantastic week!

Sickness

Hi everyone!

Don't you just hate being sick? That feeling of where you aren't hungry, just want to sleep, and do absolutely nothing? Yeah, guess what? I have had that feeling this week.

This week was supposed to be great. On Thursday, I was going to go to St. Louis with our Drama Club to go see a Broadway production of West Side Story in this gorgeous theatre. I have been looking forward to it for a month! And of all the nights to start feeling sick, I choose Wednesday night, the night before the St. Louis trip. I was so mad. I had a temperture, so there was no way I could go the next day.

I cried for the longest time. I was so looking forward to going! All of my friends were going, and we were all going to have a great time. I begged my parents to let me go, but of course they didn't let me go, because I was obviously really sick. I had a high temperture, chills, my face was red, my throat hurt, etc. So, I just had to face it, I wasn't going to St. Louis on Thursday.

I didn't sleep very well at all that night, which surprised me. I was on so many medications for headaches and allergies, I  figured I would sleep through the night. That, of course, didnt happen. I was wondering who I had gotten it from. First, I didnt know what I had. I knew there were a lot of kids sick at school. Some with the flu, even some with mono. I knew I felt awful, so who knows? I had also been out of town recently, so I could have gotten it from where I went. I just had way to much on my mind, plus I had a huge migrane. Worst. Night. Ever.

I slept through the day yesterday, and when I wasnt sleeping, I was wondering what my friends were doing. What I should have been doing. I haven't gotten sick in five years. Why did I have to get sick then? My temperture jumped around that whole day, so I knew I wouldn't be going to school today either. I don't really care. It gives me a four day weekend, I guess you could say. Yay me. Not really.

When I woke up this morning, my throat hurt really bad and it was really red. My dad took me to the doctor and it was decided that I had a throat infection and that I would be put on medicine for 10 days. So, I have nothing to do. So, I am spending my day doing homework. Yeah, a break from school is nice, but having a throat infection definitely is not.

It is flu season, so everyone needs to stay healthy and wash their hands all the time and use hand sanitizers too. I don't do that as much as I should and I regret it now. Hopefully by next week, I will be back to normal and feel great.

Stay healthy!

Love,

Me <3

Valentines Day

Hey everybody!

How was your Valentines Day? Mine was pretty good. I have a boyfriend of over a year, so of course he was my "valentine." Did you have one?

My boyfriend got me a bunch of candy and had flowers sent to my house, which I noticed whenever I got home from school that day. I got him a bunch of gift cards and his favorite candy. I had a great day, but all day I had a thought running through my head, was all of this really needed?

Obviously, Valentines Day has been around for a really long time now. it is the day that you gt to show the person you love how much you really do love them. But. do you really have to do that by giving them flowers, which will eventually die, and candy, which will eventually be eaten? These things don't last, so is this just sending your loved one the wrong message?

Do we really need a day devoted to the people we love?I mean seriously, if you love a person enough, every day should be exactly like Valentines Day, right? If you love someone enough as you say you do on this one special day that comes around every year, why don't you just let them know that every day of the year, and not just on one of them? I just don't get it.

Surveys now say that chocolate is most sold on Valentine's Day. It is also a day when the most greeting cards seem to be bought and sent out to your loved ones. Is this a coincidence? I think people make Valentines Day out to be bigger than it really is. I think it is pretty much just a greeting card holiday. The big chain stores just use it for business and for profit.

Is it really a very important holiday? I mean, compared to holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving, what really is Valentines Day? All it does is give people the courage to actually confess their true feelings to someone, and makes the singles feel lost and lonely. Really, the ratio seems to be half and half when it comes to singles and people that are currently in relationships. Single people see all of the happy couples, being all happy and "hug hug kiss kiss" with each other, and how is that supposed to  make them feel. Good for nothing? Depressed? Even maybe suicidal? Who knows?

Whether your day was being happy with the person you love, or being single and just having a great time with your friends, I hope your day was as good as mine was. Exciting Week!

Hola Everyone!

I truly hope every ones week has been as amazing as mine has been. So many things have happened this week that I will never forget about for the rest of my life. Yes, my week has really been that great!

Relating to me being an only child, I knew my parents we going to get me a car. They told me they would do that for me. We have been looking for cars since about December, looking for the perfect car for my first car for my sixteenth birthday that us coming up in May. We had looked all over the Internet. We probably went to about ten dealers around the area looking for that special car for me.

One day after school, I saw my parents drive up in a car that I wasn't used to seeing. It came to my realization that it was my car! I started freaking out. I loved it! It was my own car! My parents brought it home to show it to me. They could tell that I was in love with it, so they said they would go get it for me! I was and still am pumped about it.

It is a 2005 Infinity G35x. I love it to pieces. It is grey or silver, you can't really tell. It was leather interior and everything! I am so happy that I got such a nice car for my first car. It shows me how luck I really am. Many kids never get cars, or anything like I do. I am so thankful for all of the things that I have and all of the opportunities that I have had in my life. May people take these things for granted, and I am not going to lie, I use to also. After getting such a nice car, I am not like that anymore. I am very lucky for my life and the way I get to live it. Is my life perfect? Absolutely not. Nobodies is. We all just need to be more thankful for the stuff that we do have. There are people out there that are homeless, hungry, and poor. Things can always be worse, so live life to the fullest.

I have always dreamed of what my first car would be. What color was it going to be? What type was it gong to be? What bran is it going to be? Will I pick it out? Or will it be a surprise? I would have never ever imagined I would have this nice of a car. I sure would I don't wreck it or get any damage with it! That would stink. It is way to pretty fo that. Now.. I need to come up with a name. Any suggestions?

Cheer Competitions

Hey Everybody!

I hope everybody's week has been better than mine has been. I hate to sound depressing, but my weekend has ruined my whole entire week, pretty much. This weekend, I went to my cheer team's competition in Mahomet, Illinois. It was the Illinois High School Association's Cheerleading Sectional. If you placed 1st through 5th in your division, you advanced to the state competition. We had 18 people in our division. Before I go into detail, I had better inform you what exactly goes on at a cheer competition.

Okay, you probably don't know this, but teams get ready for competitions like this months in advance. You basically have to come up with a competition team, and then make up a rountine, consistingof jumps, tumbling, and mounts. You have to make sure it has difficulty, but everything you do has to be perfect. On competition day, you perform this routine in front of a panel of judges, who each judge you on a specific thing. The higher the score, the better.

Our cheerleaders have already competed in one competition, ICCA State, and placed for state, which is one week from now. We all knew that our cheerleaders were going to make it to state for this competition, no problem. When they performed in front of the judges at IHSA this last Saturday, their rountine went okay. Some mounts didn't stink, so tumbling didn't stick, and it wasn't completely syncronized. Overall, the routine wasn't great, but not really bad. They performed 4th, so they had to watch all of the rest of the team's perform until we got the results.

Finally, results came. When they announced the top five teams that were going to be advancing to state the following weekend in a two day competition, we were shocked. Our name wasn't called. Nobody nkew what went wrong. We all figured we must have gotten either 6th or 7th, or at the very least, 8th place. We all were bummed out, and it only got worse. We then found out that we had gotten 12th place.

We all knew that we didin't deserve that at all. What got us that is that we were towards the front of the line up. You never want to be one ofthe first teams to go one the mat. You always want to be fresh in the judges eyes, and obviously if you weren't the last teams to go, they wont remember you as well. In fact, the team that went dead last won our division. That shows you how important it is to be towards the end of the lineup.

The whole compeititon wasn't bad though. Two people on our squad got scholarships for college cheerleading! There were scouts there from different collges and the gave a scholarship to them if they would like to use it at their college.

All of them know what they need to change to become better for our next competiton, which is next weekend. I know they will all do a great job. Good luck to them next week!

I will blog again next week. Bye!

Sincerely,

Me <3

New York!

Hey Everybody!

How has everybody's week been? Mine has been uneventful, as always, but earlier, I remember something that is very eventful that I will being doing in June.

I am going to New York City!

In drama, every two years they offer to tae kids to New York CIty for sightseeing, plays, and just to say you went there pretty much. I am so exicted that I get to go this year. We are doing a ton of cool stuff there. We are there for three full days, and I can guarantee that they will be extremely busy!

We leave from school at 7:00 PM on June 4th and arrive in New York at 11:30 AM the next day. That is a fifteen hour drive! Once we get there, we participate in an acting workshop called "Stage Makeup." If any of you have been in drama before, you know all about the makeup that you wear on stage. If not, you have to wear very dark makeup on stage so you don't get washed out by all of the lights that will be on you. You look like a clown, but hey, you look good on stage and that's all that matters.

After that, we take a tour about the history of Broadway and Times Square over the last 100 years. Then, we get to eat supper at Hard Rock Cafe. I don't know about you, but I Love Hard Rock Cafe. last year when I went to Orlando, Florida for a band trip, I ate at the world's largest Hard Rock Cafe and it was amazing! After we eat, we get to go to a Broadway show!

To me, this is the most exciteing thing about our trip! ever since I was really little I have always wanted to go to Broadway and watch a play by professionals. Im not sure what play we are seeing, but I am sure it will be great.

After that, we check into our hotel in Seacaucus, New Jersey. I am also excited about this because I have never been to New Jersey before, so I guess this trip will be full of firsts for me! The next day, we wake up and do another acting class, called "Stage Combat." I am so excited for this class, because you get to look like you beat people up, even though you really don't. You need to be able to take your anger out on something, I guess. Then, we eat lunch at a sea port. We go to Greenwich VIllage and art galleries in South Hampton. We also get to shop and eat at Chinatown and Little Italy. We also get to see another Broadway show, "Memphis: A New Musical."The last day consisits of more classes, shopping, and tours of Central Park.

If you couldn't tell, I am So excited for this trip! I can't wait to take pictures and experience all the fun things New York City has to offer! This will be an experience of a life time, and I will always cherish the memories I will make there. That's pretty much it! See you next week!

Drama, Drama, and More Drama Here at PCHS

Hey Everyone!

This is now my second blog post for my Creative Writing class here at Paris Cooperative High School. I am starting to warm up to the idea of blogs, now that I am starting to like the writing aspects of it. Since the last time I have posted on here, there has been a lot going on here in this past week.

I don't know about you guys, but we have a lot of trouble with drugs here at my high school. This past week, there have been a couple people that are in my school's production of West Side Story that have tested positive for drugs during our school's routine random drug testing.

Now, I am not here to bash on these people and say mean things to them. People that are in drama with me are my family, almost just as much as my actual family is. I will never bask my family members. Obviously, I don't think it is right what they did, but I am their family, and I will support them through their recovery through this. They are smart enough to know that it effects our group as a whole. It kind of hurt me that they would do this. But hey, the past is the past.

Anyway, let's move on to cheer. Our varsity cheer squad is going to competition in Mahommet, Illinois net Saturday. I am not on the competition team, but I go to all of their practice and help them with anything that they need done. And if I can so myself, they are amazing. If you want to support our cheerleaders, please go to one of our competitions! You don't realize how much it means to us to have support from our school!

Nothing interesting at home this week really, but  would like to talk about one thing; driving.I passed my driving test with the instructor this week, so I don't have to take my driving test to get my license. Whatever. Anyway, the thing I am looking forward to is getting a car! I have looked all over to find a car that I would like to have as my first car. I am kind of girly, so definitely not a truck or a SUV. If you know me and have any suggestions of what you could see me driving in, let me know. They would be greatly appreciated!

I get my license on May 13th, and I am so excited! I am so tired of having my parents driving me everywhere. It makes me feel so bad that my parents have to drive me everywhere and wasting their time driving me all over town for all of my activities. I also have to admit, I am also terrified. These two years that I have been in high school, two of my fellow classmates have died becuase of car crashes. It is a scary thing to think about. I have to do it eventually, so I guess I have to trust everyone else that is driving with me, which is hard to do nowadays with all of the drunk drivers on the road.

I really hope you are enjoying my blog. If you are reading this, tell your friends about me! If you enjoy it, they will too! Thanks for Reading!

Hello!

Hi everybody!

I am Katie, and I am a sophomore at the high school here in Paris, Illinois. I must admit, I am kind of nervous about keeping a blog, considering that this is my first one I have made the whole entire 15 years and 8 months I have been on this earth, and I'm not  really sure what in the heck is going on! I am doing this for my Creative Writing class at Paris Cooperative High School, but hopefully, maybe, I will actually get followers to this blog! I sure hope so!

Okay, so I know you were wondering. My blog is basically about my crazy life and the things that happen to me on a daily basis. I happen to be busy all the time! I am a junior varsity cheerleader here, and I am involved in the plays here, and these things take up a big chunk of my life. And you may have noticed in the title on my blog, but yes, I am also an only child.

Being an only child is a big part of my life. Technically, I'm not really an only child. First off, I have two half brothers from my dad's previous marriage, but they are much older than me and I never really see them anymore. Second, I guess you could say I have a twin. When my mother was pregnant with me, she was pregnant with twins. Early on in the pregnancy, she had troubles, and lost the twin. So, I guess you could say, I really have 3 siblings. Sometimes I wonder, "How would life be different if they would have survived?" I wouldn't have near as many things that I do now, and I wouldn't be the only focus my parents have. I haven't really decided if this is a good or bad thing yet. I guess this just makes me unique and interesting, at least I hope so. For those of you that know me and are close with me, you know I am not a boring person.

Anyway, I guess it would be a good idea to talk about drama. Our school is having a spring production, and it is "West Side Story." For those of you who aren't play buffs, this is one of the most wellknown plays of all time, and it is very stressful getting everything ready. Not only do we have to sing and memorize lines, but we have to dance, and let me tell you, it isn't easy at all. This is a very adult musical, and us teens are trying to reach our potential with all of this, which isn't easy by any means. The musical is in the begenning of April. For those of you that live around here, I suggest you mark your calendars and see our production of West Side Story. I promise you, it will be amazing.

I will be making blog posts every week, so if you enjoyed this week's, keep reading! Tell your friends to read, and you can share my blog to Facebook as well. Feel free to make comments on anything and i will try to answer you back. Hope you enjoyed it! Bye for now!

Love,
